The Alkalo of Latrikunda German, Alhaji Omar M.O. Faal, has denied claims by United Democratic Party (UDP) member Ya Kumba Jaiteh that he issued 13,000 attestations during the 2026 supplementary voter registration exercise.

In a statement, Faal said records from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) showed that he issued 132 attestations, not 13,000.

He said only two of the 132 attestations were challenged at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Revising Court, adding that he was awaiting the court’s decisions.

Faal said he travelled to the United Kingdom on August 26, 2026, and had not been served with a summons or asked to appear before a revising court over the challenges before his departure.

He also dismissed social media claims that he had failed to appear in court while attending a political rally, saying he remained outside the country.

Faal accused Jaiteh of spreading misleading information and urged journalists and the public to verify the figures directly with the IEC.
