Latrikunda United have knocked out Zurich in the Serekunda East Nawettan playoff post-match penalty shootout after 90 minutes of goalless contest.

Both sides showcased spectacular talent of skills with so many chances but the players failed to find the back of the net for their respective teams.

The central referee had to pause the game briefly for water break due to the high temperature hit battering The Gambia, to allow players to hydrate.

The electrifying fans from both sides cheered their teams by drumming and singing songs for their teams.

Six players from both teams took a penalty spot that saw Latrikunda United utilizing six of their shots leaving their opponent, Zurich made best use of their five shots before LK United goalkeeper saved the sixth Zurich shooter’s penalty.

The keeper broke down in tears of joy after the brilliant save that sent his team to the next round of the knockout stage as zones are fast-tracking to complete their tournaments to avoid missing out on the time table deadline of the Gambia Football Federation.
