A man who injured two police officers in Serekunda has been charged with assault and grievous bodily harm.

Musa Sarr on Wednesday stabbed two police officers after attempting to enter a football park.

Police spokesman, ASP Lamin Njie, confirmed to our reporter that a man has been charged with assault. He said: ” A man (Musa Sarr) has been charged for assault.”

He said the offender is helping the police in their investigation, adding likely more charges will be levelled against Sarr after the police investigation.

ASP Lamin Njie said one of the injured police officers has been released while the other officer is still receiving treatment at Serrekunda Hospital.
