Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to £65 million to sign Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.

The agreement is reportedly worth an initial £60 million, with a further £5 million in add-ons.

The 26-year-old winger had been close to joining Tottenham after the London club agreed terms with Everton on Friday night.

The proposed deal was linked to a potential move by Brazil forward Richarlison in the opposite direction.

However, Richarlison reportedly failed to agree personal terms with Everton, preventing Tottenham from completing the Ndiaye transfer.

Manchester City’s move for Ndiaye comes after their proposed £80 million deal for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo appeared to collapse.

City had opened negotiations for the Netherlands international, but Liverpool were only prepared to sell if they could secure a replacement.

Liverpool had also explored moves for Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr, although valuations have complicated both deals.
