A marabout has been arrested after “bundles” of cannabis were found during a raid on May 3. 

Officers from the Anti-Crime Unit raided a property in Sanyang Village where they located a large amount of cannabis.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old Senegalese man identified as Mass Joof.

Police spokesman Superintendent Lamin Njie said “he was found to be a fraudulent marabout involved in dealing with suspected cannabis. Bundles of suspected cannabis were recovered from his possession.”

Police say the suspect is helping them in their investigation.
