Two parliamentarians who were recently expelled from the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) have declared their full support for President Adama Barrow and his National People’s Party (NPP).
The pair were dismissed by the opposition party who accused them of “undermining the GDC party” by campaigning for NPP.
The expelled MPs, Salif Jawo and Kebba Jallow, dismissed the allegations levelled against them and accused their former leader of “behaving like a dictator”.
“Today we are the supporters of President Adama Barrow and his agenda 100%. We are going to support him [President Adama Barrow] and he [Mamma Kandeh] cannot do anything [about] that.
“And what I want to tell him [ Mamma Kandeh] [is] that this is a big blow [for] his party because he brought five seats to this parliament and now, he is left with only two, three have gone so that is a disaster [for] his party,” Jokadu lawmaker Salif Jawo told reporters.
