Residents of Nema Jola Kunda have expressed happiness after a group of African descendants supported the community with a water pumping machine and a cash amount of D20,000.

The group also supported the construction of a 120-meter road within the community that had been an obstacle for the people to use during the rainy season.

The joyous lawmaker of the constituency Abdoulie Ceesay shared pictures of the event on his social media platform thanking the group for their continued support to the Gambian communities especially people of his constituency.

“Thank you Blaxit and COAD for the support, on behalf of the constituency and the people of Nema, I wish to express appreciation emanating from the beneficiaries. 

“This is a manifestation of your willingness to contribute to the development of the Gambia while continuing to integrate yourselves within the society,” Mr Ceesay said.

Meanwhile he added that President Adama Barrow has donated D200,000 to the community of Old Yundum towards the construction of new toilets at the market dump site.
