President Adama Barrow’s National People’s Party (NPP) has welcomed Omar Jatto Jammeh, the Independent National Assembly Member for Janjangbureh, into its fold.
In a statement announcing the development, presidential adviser Momodou Sabally said the move reflects growing support for the governing party’s development agenda.
“NPP heartily welcomes the National Assembly Member for Janjangbureh (Independent), Omar Jatto Jammeh,” Sabally said.

“As the President’s development caravan sweeps the length and breadth of the country, progressive, development-oriented young and brilliant minds are coming on board.”
Jammeh’s decision to align with the NPP is seen as a boost for the party in the Central River Region, where Janjangbureh is a key constituency.
The development comes amid the NPP’s continued efforts to consolidate support in the National Assembly and broaden its base ahead of the presidential election.
