The Gambia U-17 forward Omar Badjie has been named the Most Valuable Player of the WAFU Zone A U-17 Tournament following the Scorplings’ historic triumph in Dakar.

Omar Badjie played a key role in The Gambia’s run to the title, producing several decisive moments throughout the tournament.

Omar scored in the Scorplings’ 3–1 victory over Mauritania before finding the net again in the 2–1 semi-final win over Liberia.

The Gambinos’ forward performances earned him individual recognition as he was crowned the tournament’s MVP, adding another major award to The Gambia’s historic WAFU A U-17 title.

Omar Badjie’s recognition caps an impressive tournament for the young Gambian, who played an important role in helping the Scorplings finish the competition unbeaten and lift the trophy.
