President Adama Barrow has announced a series of cabinet and senior public service appointments, including the naming of Mod K. Ceesay as the new Minister for Trade, Regional Integration and Employment.

The appointment, effective 2 December 2025, was made under Section 71(1) of the Constitution.

Ceesay previously served as the country’s first Chief of Staff in 2021, a role that was later elevated to ministerial rank in 2024.

He has held permanent secretary positions across several ministries, including Trade, and has international experience through his work with WAIFEM and other global partners.

In a separate development, Deputy Chief of Staff Alieu Loum has been promoted to Chief of Staff at the Office of the President.

Loum has held a series of senior roles, from Director of Delivery under the former Department of Strategic Policy and Delivery to Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Public Service.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the National Social Protection Agency, Momodou K. Dibba, has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff. Dibba, an economist, previously served as a director at the Department of Strategic Policy and Delivery.
