President Adama Barrow has presented a new luxurious Nissan car to Gambian Olympic star Gina Bass. 

The handing over ceremony took place on Thursday at the State House. 

Mr Barrow said the award was done to show appreciation to Gina Bass and the entire team for their successes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. 

“It’s my second time competing in the Olympics, so it’s a great thing to me. My target was to be in the final but I couldn’t make it. But I really thank God for it because I have broken my record,” Bass said. 

The president also donated D500,000 to the entire Gambian Olympics team. 

Bass, who is also a police sub inspector, was yesterday awarded a plot of land by the Inspector General of Police in recognition of her success at the Tokyo Olympics.
