President Adama Barrow has left Banjul for his nationwide tour in a well-attended send-off at the Banjul Ferry Terminal.

Before departing to Barra, President Barrow spoke briefly to the media, expressing his delight at the large crowd that had gathered to see him off.

He described the tour as part of his constitutional duty as head of state.

“I am impressed by the turnout here today. As President, it is my right and responsibility to go on an annual tour to meet the people and check on development projects,” he said.

He also noted that the number of communities and projects he needs to visit is large, and he may not be able to cover all of them.

However, he promised to prioritise important locations and ensure that key projects are on track.

President Barrow added that this year’s tour would follow the same approach as previous years, assuring Gambians that they can expect more progress and results from his administration.
