President Adama Barrow will travel to Gabon on Sunday, 16 August 2026, to attend the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations as a special guest.

Barrow is scheduled to depart Banjul International Airport at 8:00am for Libreville, where the celebrations will take place on Monday, 17 August.

The visit comes a month after Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema paid a State Visit to Banjul, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

Barrow’s visit is expected to further deepen the growing relationship between The Gambia and Gabon.
