
The Office of the President has announced that President Adama Barrow has declared Monday, 25 May 2026, a public holiday in observance of African Liberation Day, also known as Africa Day.
In a separate declaration, the President also announced Wednesday, 27 May, and Thursday, 28 May 2026, as public holidays to mark the Muslim feast of Eid al-Adha, locally known as Tobaski.
The presidency said the holidays are intended to allow Gambians to celebrate the important African and Islamic occasions with their families and communities.
On behalf of the government and the First Family, President Barrow extended warm Africa Day and Eid greetings to Gambians both at home and abroad.
