The Read Gambia Read-A-Thon 2025, a national literacy competition targeting young Gambians aged 16 to 30, will take place on 1 December at Motherland Senegambia.

The event aims to promote reading, creativity and national pride as contestants compete in a live reading challenge for a chance to represent The Gambia in the Guinness World Records Reading Challenge.

This year’s keynote speaker and chief judge is Madam Isatou Ndow, vice principal of The Gambia College, who will oversee the competition alongside a panel of notable figures.

Tickets are available in advance at Motherland Restaurant at D500 for Standard and D1,000 for VIP. Organisers say there will be no gate sales. The programme starts at 3pm.
