Momodou Sabally, the newly appointed deputy campaign manager for the ruling National People’s Party, has declared an unapologetic tit-for-tat approach against critics who focus on personal attacks rather than ideas and policies.
Sabally, who is also a presidential adviser, issued this warning in an exclusive interview with reporters at the airport while awaiting his flight to embark on what he described as a “big mission” for the country.
When asked about his past videos, in which he criticised President Adama Barrow and his government while in the opposition, the former UDP campaign manager defended himself, stating that he only spoke on policies but acknowledged that he had thrown political jabs at his opponents at the time.
“I only speak on policies, and there is no politician who speaks on policies more than I do. However, occasionally, certain people come out and attack me, and I will always hit them back. If they go personal on me, I will go personal on them, and I owe no apology to anyone for that,” he said.
He also announced the launch of Operation Relief Everyone, aimed at winning the hearts of opposition critics and encouraging them to join President Adama Barrow and his government.
