Sateba FC have beaten Stone Circle in the first game of the GFF regional triangular playoff qualifiers played yesterday at the Soma Mini Stadium.

Three second-half goals were enough for the Soma based team to win what was a very difficult contest for the hosts after a goalless first half.

Abdulkadir Sabally’s 79th-minute penalty for Sateba broke the deadlock and thus the resolute Stone Circle defence became fragile and substitute Alasana Samateh capitalised further getting a brace in the 85th and, 90+3 minutes, respectively.

As winners, Sateba FC of the Lower River Region awaits for the winner of tomorrow’s match between two former Second Division sides 2nd Infantry Battalion of the NBR and Wagadu FC of URR for Sunday’s final.
