A Senegalese soldier has died while nine more are seriously injured after their travelling vehicle was involved in a road accident.

A Senegalese Special Military flight bearing registration number 6w-TTE evacuated the injured soldiers to Dakar after their hospitalization at the Bwiam hospital.

The soldiers were travelling on an official duty from Foni to Kerr Ayib border post when the accident occurred, according to a statement from The Gambia’s Ministry of Information.

“Unfortunately, at Kiang Wudayba, the last vehicle in the convoy was involved in a road traffic accident, resulting in the tragic loss of one soldier and injuries to nine others,” the ministry added.
