Sergeant Colley Bunama of the Gambia Armed Forces has returned triumphantly to The Gambia after completing an intensive 5-week Civil and Combat Engineering training course in Brazil.

Held from October 24 to November 22, the course was organised by the United Nations in partnership with the Brazilian Government.

Representing the Gambia Armed Forces, Sergeant Colley was one of just six military personnel selected from across Africa to participate in this exclusive training programme. 

The course aimed to enhance the technical capabilities and human resource development of the participating countries.

The training brought together participants from five African nations, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Among 19 total participants, the Gambia Armed Forces secured an impressive third-place ranking in the overall performance.
