Sports Journalists Association of Gambia has awarded the country’s track queen Mariam Gina Bass the ‘Oversea Women-Based Athlete of the Year.’

SJAG on Sarturday celebrated its 12th edition award which recognises sports reporters, sports personalities and athletes.

Mustapha Bittaye, husband and manager of Mariam Gina Bass expressed joy for Bass being recognized with such prestigious accolade. 

“Congratulations Gina Mariam Bass Bittaye for winning the 12th edition of the SJAG awards of the oversea women base athlete of the year 2023. Congratulations madam,”he said.
