
Star Boys Football Club emerged victorious in the President Adama Barrow Ramadan Football Tournament, defeating Babun Fatty 5–4 on penalties in a thrilling final at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.
The match, watched by President Barrow, ministers, senior government officials, sports enthusiasts, and supporters from across the country, ended 0-0 in regulation time, forcing a tense penalty shootout.
Star Boys held their nerve to claim the championship trophy and a cash prize of D75,000, while runners-up Babun Fatty received D50,000.

Tigers of Kotu secured third place after defeating T Town, taking home D15,000.
President Barrow, addressing spectators at half-time, reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment through sports.
“Supporting tournaments like this encourages unity, peace, and talent development among our young people,” he said.
Organisers hailed the tournament as a major success, noting that around 40 teams participated, showcasing skill and sportsmanship across communities.
The competition, held during Ramadan, has become a key platform for promoting grassroots sports, community engagement, and youth development in The Gambia.
Star Boys’ triumph highlights not only their resilience on the field but also the growing spirit of competition and camaraderie among young footballers nationwide.
