Mayor Ahmed Talib Bensouda has fired back at Bakary Badjie and said he will massively defeat the country’s youths and sports minister running to unseat him in May 20 mayoral elections.

Bakary had ripped into Talib Bensouda saying he does not deserve a second term in office, describing his tenure in office as “not very successful”.

However, after filing his nomination papars to the Independent Electoral Commission Kanifing office today, Talib Bensouda scoffed at Badjie’s comments and said he is going to score him a hat-trick.

“Residents of KMC have lots of confidence in me and my team and the honourable councillors who are the backbone for what we have done. I think come May 20, we will have the victory and that’s because they have the trust in us,” he said.

“I have won, it’s going to be 3-0 – a hat-trick,” he said referring to his upcoming victory against Bakary Badjie and his National People’s Party.

According to him, his leadership has the best record as far as council leadership is concern.
