Ahmad Talib Bensouda, mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council, has unveiled a 300 million dalasis road project as he launched his manifesto ahead of May 20 mayoral election.

“Our manifesto will be people centred. That’s why we are concerned about the grassroot. On top of our list for this coming five years is road infrastructure. We know road network is the biggest problem and complain of the people. This project will cost 300 million dalasis,” Bensouda announced.

The incumbent mayor who is seeking a second term also highlighted a housing project in a bid to address high cost of rental housing. 

He lashed out at the central government for not doing enough to curb the rising cost of housing rent.
