Momodou Sabally

Momodou Sabally, an adviser to President Adama Barrow and Deputy Campaign Manager for the ruling National People’s Party, has accused United Democratic Party (UDP) supporters of attacking him and his entourage in Brikama.

He said they were attacked during the launch of a UNDP project implemented by the government.

“As you see us standing here, UDP hooligans came, insulted us, and insulted the sitting governor just for showcasing the good work this government is doing,”Sabally said in a viral video while standing with the regional governor.

In the video, two men are seen being separated by a crowd as they try to punch each other.

Another man is seen showing a vehicle that had been smashed with a stone. He alleged that they were stoned.

Sabally was a former executive of the UDP party that defected to the ruling NPP in December 2023.

The UDP has been contacted for comment.
