Police are clamping down on vehicles with expired licences as they mount a heavy security checkpoint at Denton Bridge, causing traffic jam. 

Hundreds of vehicles going in and out of Banjul are lined up at Denton Bridge, as dozens of other vehicles are pulled aside for not renewing their licences.

Last week, police in a statement said they “will commence an exercise to check on all vehicles and drivers that have not got their licences renewed for 2021. 

“This exercise will begin on Monday 19th April 2021 and vehicles that are found unlicensed will be impounded.

“To avoid inconvenience, all vehicle owners and drivers are urged to ensure that, their licences are renewed for 2021.”
