Tujereng’s remarkable run in their debut West Coast Zonal Football Championship has captured attention across the region and head coach Omar Jabang believes their success is rooted in one simple formula; relentless work and belief.
Fresh from their 2-0 semi-final victory over Gunjur, which secured their spot in the final of the 5th edition of the tournament, Omar Jabang praised his players’ commitment.
“Is all about preparation and training hard. If you want to achieve something you have to train hard. Since the start, it’s all about training hard and they trained hard to achieve this thing,” he said, reflecting on their journey to the historic final.
Tujereng, participating in the competition for the first time, have shown composure, hunger, and tactical maturity throughout the tournament. Jabang highlighted that this performance is not a surprise to those who know the community’s football culture.
“Tujereng in their history, they have a lot of talents, it’s just that we don’t have the opportunity but with this Zonals, people will realise the talent we have. If you look at the grassroots level, Tujereng have one of the best if not the best and this Zonals will help us expose our talents.”
With goals from Musa Camara and Momodou Bojang sealing their place in the final, Tujereng now prepare to face Lamin, another side making their first appearance in a Zonal final. But the coach insists their mindset will not change.

“We will approach the final as we approach the rest of the games and I believe when we play at our best we will definitely win the trophy and take the trophy back to Kombo South,” Jabang concluded.
A historic debut, a united community and a confident coach. Tujereng’s dream run continues.
