Talented Gambian striker Yankuba Minteh has made an impressive UEFA Champions League debut for Dutch side Feyenoord who beat Celtic 2-0 in Rotterdam last night.

Minteh led the attacking line as Feyenoord marked their return to the group phase of the Champions League after a five-year absence.

The 19-year old Gambian striker came close to scoring in the first half of play but his long range shot was saved by Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Calvin Stengs broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime and Alireza Jahanbakhsh added a second in the 76th minute of the Group E encounter against the Scottish champions, who had two players sent off in the space of five minutes midway through the second half.

Feyenoord came into the match on a superb run of form, unbeaten in the Dutch top flight and scoring at least five goals in their last three games.
