Yankuba Touray, a former AFPRC junta member and minister of Local Government and Lands has reportedly refused to testify before The Gambia’s Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission.

Mr Touray, who was scheduled to testify this morning before the Commission, made no appearance.

It’s not clear as to the reasons why he refused to testify but sources close to the Commission said that Yankuba Touray had declined to appear before the Commission.

Mr Touray has been accused by several witnesses to the commission of perpetrating human rights abuses during the AFPRC junta rule.

He risks facing arrest for refusing to testify before the TRRC.
