Eleven suspected drug traffickers among them a 31-year-old woman have been arrested with illegal drugs within the Greater Banjul.

Haddy Marega, the only woman among the suspects, was arrested in Serrekunda with 10 blocks of suspected cannabis resin concealed in transparent nylon bags.

Meanwhile, the other suspects included Bafily Jarjou, Modou Njie, Pap Jabbie, Jata Mballow Bakary Conteh, Muhammed Manneh, Omar Colley, and Ismaila Ndow

DLEAG added that two underaged children were also arrested “a 15 years old Alleged Child Offender (ACO) was arrested by Joint security task force at Banjul Beach on the 28th May 2024 at around 11:00 hours GMT onwards with (2) big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa which is concealed in cement paper and placed inside a black travelling bag.

“The 17-year-old alleged child offender, a resident of Brufut and a driver by profession, was arrested by Tanji DLEAG station on the 27th of May 2024 with (38) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa and (20) pieces of suspected cannabis resin which is concealed in multicolour nylon bag and white purse respectively.”
