A 20-year-old man from Fajikunda has died after allegedly being stabbed during an incident at St. Charles Luwanga Hall in Piccadilly in the early hours of Sunday, police have confirmed.

According to the Gambia Police Force, the incident occurred following an overnight programme held at the venue. The victim sustained what investigators believe to be stab wounds and was rushed to a health facility, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Crime Scene Investigators visited the scene as part of ongoing efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The deceased’s body has since been transferred to the mortuary pending further procedures.

Police said three suspects, all minors, have been arrested in connection with the case and are currently in custody assisting with investigations.

Authorities have launched a full investigation into the alleged murder and say further details will be released as the inquiry progresses.
