Thirty-two laboratory personnel from the Ministry of Health have been trained on sample collection that seeks to help ramp up coronavirus tests in the country.

It comes as the nation sees a sharp rise in daily coronavirus infection.

“In a bid to increase the number of Covid-19 tests at community level, an Africa CDC-funded training of 32 laboratory personnel on sample collection and testing techniques was successfully conducted,” the Ministry of Health said.

“No new Covid-19 related death recorded. No new posthumous sample tested. 91 new laboratory test results received (14 from MRC and 77 from NPHL). No new sample tested positive for Covid-19.”
