A 38-year-old man has been arrested for being in possession of suspected prohibited drugs. 

Dawda Sowe was detained by Drug Law enforcement officers (DLEAG) in Kalaji. 

“On the 30 December 2021 around 10am onwards officers took into custody a Senegalese national residing in Bambadala village located in the Southern Senegalese Region of Casamance on charges of being in possession of suspected prohibited drugs,” DLEAG said.

Sowe was found with 10 big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa at Juwekel village in the West Coast Region. 

The cannabis were wrapped with brown cement papers and concealed in a flour bag. 

He was cycling when he was stopped and arrested. 

Meanwhile DLEAG said its officers in 

Brusubi recovered one big bundle of suspected cannabis from a suspect who is currently at large. 

The suspect carried a school bag that contained suspected cannabis while riding a bicycle. 

The incident happened at Abuko on the 30 December 2021 around 5:40pm.

DLEAG Bakau field officers took into custody Omar Bangura and Ablie Njie alias Papa lie for possession of suspected prohibited drugs. 

They were apprehended on 29 December 2021 around 6am with four bundles of suspected cannabis.
