Drug law enforcement officers have arrested an eight-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man with suspected bundles of drugs. 

According to the Drug Law Enforcement Agency (DLEAG) the boy whose identity could not be disclosed was arrested alongside one Sering Mass with 22 bundles and 15 parcels of suspected cannabis sativa on 28 January around 8pm.

DLEAG’s Bakau field officers made the arrests in Latrikunda German, Kanifing municipality. 

The agency added that the suspected drugs were wrapped with white and brown papers and concealed in two separate used flour bags.

In a related development, the agency also said its officers in Serrekunda arrested a teenager Bakary Sowe, 19, for being in possession of five parcels of suspected cannabis sativa and 13 pieces of suspected cannabis resin (hashish)

“The suspected cannabis sativa was concealed in a multi-colour bag and the suspected hashish in a used cigarette packet. 

“He was arrested on the 28 January 2022 around 10:55 AM onwards at Lamin in the West Coast Region.  All three suspects were taken into custody while Officers further probe into their matters,” the agency said.
