The Gambia has recorded a sharp rise in coronavirus cases after 98 people tested positive.

But there was no death registered according to health authorities.

The 98 people were among the 357 newly tested for Covid-19.

“98 new cases registered, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases ever confirmed in the country to 2,895,” the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

“The median age of the new cases is 33.5 years (range: 9 to 78 years).”
