Police officers undergoing training on countering protests and crowd control

A document circulating on social media titled ‘End User Certificate’ claimed to have been issued by The Gambia Police Forces is still unclear whether it is an authentic document, according to police sources.

Speaking to Gambiana on Monday afternoon, Police spokesman, ASP Lamin Njie said that ” I saw it from people circulating (it) on social media, I will find out.”

The unconfirmed police letter

He said he couldn’t verified the said document “because by then I was already out of my office.”

He assured our reporter that he will get back to him on Tuesday morning with the verification process saying “if it is ours I will be able to trace where it came from.”

On the purported police letter it showed an invoice for the transaction of anti-riot weapons including smoke launchers and rubber bullets from a Canada based weapons manufacturer, Lamperd Less Lethal.
