The Indian President, Ram Nath Kovind, arrived in Banjul on Tuesday afternoon for a three day official state visit.
President Kovind was received at the Banjul International Airport by President Adama Barrow.
He is scheduled to meet President Barrow today at the State House, which will be followed by a signing ceremony, among other engagements.
“President Kovind arrives in Banjul, The Gambia. The President was warmly received by Gambian President Adama Barrow. This is the first-ever state visit to The Gambia by an Indian President,” read a tweet on the President of India’s official Twitter account.
President Kovind arrived in Banjul after completing the first leg of his West African tour to Benin.
