Police have said that they are not aware of any arrest of Sanna Manjang and Bora Colley.
Reports circulating on social media and some online media outlets have it that Sanna Manjang and Bora Colley have been arrest by the forces of the regional bloc, ECOMIG.
Sanna Manjang and Bora Colley were members of former President Yahya Jammeh’s security guards as well as the infamous hit squad, The Jungulers
They fled the country after the former president was forced out by an intervention force from the regional bloc, ECOWAS following a shock election defeat to the opposition coalition led by Adama Barrow.
The duo are on the police wanted lists after being accused of gross human rights abuses. Several witnesses at the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission have mentioned the former soldiers of being involved in several high profile killings and human rights abuses during the Jammeh regime.
Speaking to the Police spokesman ASP Lamin Njie said: “we can’t confirm these (arrests) as our officers were not involved in any such arrests.
“I wouldn’t say it is not possible completely but I can tell you that the police were not involved in any such arrests.”
However, Gambiana is yet to get a comment from both the Gambia Army and ECOMIG.
