Pa Ousman Sanneh, another member of former president Yahya Jammeh’s hit squad, the Jungulers, has confessed his role in the killing of Baba Jobe and the arrest of ex-army chief, Ndure Cham.
Mr. Sanneh was testifying before the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) on Tuesday August 6.
He said Nuha Badjie told him that Baba Jobe’s killing was an order from the ex-president Yahya Jammeh.
“ I was at home when I received a call from the operation officer, Malick Jatta, that I should go to Banjul. We converged at the Arch 22 (in Banjul) and we drove to RVTH (hospital) and they said that someone was lying at the private clinic,” he said.
Meanwhile, he confessed his role in the arrest of the former army chief, Ndure Cham, who was implicated in a coup attempt to topple the Jammeh regime in 2006.
“I participated in the arrest of Ndure Cham we were called upon to go for a patrol. During my turn on duty I realised that Ndure Cham was tortured I use to brew attaya for him when we were chatting he told me that your that tall boy disturb me and that was Saul Sambou.”
He added that: “I learned that my colleagues collected him and kill him.”
Pa Ousman Sanneh’s testimony continues on Wednesday.
