Former president Yahya Jammeh’s bodyguard has alleged that he was a serial womaniser who had sexual liaisons with many women at the State House and his home village of Kanilai.

Yusupha Sanneh, who was Jammeh’s orderly for over a decade, made the revelation during his testimony to the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission on Wednesday.

Mr Sanneh alleged that Jammeh will demand foot massage and the brewing of green tea “attaya” from women including female soldiers.

He said the former president’s sexual liaisons used to happen when the former First Lady Zineb Jammeh was out of the country adding that she used to travel frequently.

Mr Sanneh said Jammeh refused his guards to escort any woman who brewed green tea for him at night and would spend time alone with them.

“By right, we should be the ones to escort anyone who is taking the green tea to him, but if a man brewed the green tea he will allow us to escort him, but if ladies brewed they would take it to him without escort and they would spend 30-45 minutes with him,” he added.

He however said none of the women ever confided anything to him as to what had happened between them and Jammeh.

“I cannot say what the former President does inside the house with the women because I do not go close to the room,” he said.

He said the former president also used to receive women from other countries.

The former guard was shown a list of 30 women who were identified to have had sexual liaisons with the former president. He identified 15 women on the list who used to come to Jammeh’s residence at Kanilai.
