Scores of Gambia Democratic Party (GDC) supporters in Jokadu district has defected to the Barrow Youth Movement, says the former GDC regional youth chairman in the district.

Ousman Jallow told Gambiana in Fass Njaga Choi that the reason for their defection from GDC to Barrow camp was “due to the lack of vision in the party.

“There has been a massive defection from GDC to the camp of Barrow Youth Movement. I can attest to this that 95 percent of GDC supporters including its executive in Jokadu, Lower Niumi and Upper Niumi have defected.”

Mr Jallow’s claim cannot be independently verified.

The GDC spokesman has been contacted for comment.
