Opposition APRC’s deputy party leader Ousman Rambo Jatta has vowed to stop the outgoing Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Abubacarr Tambadou from leaving the country.

In an audio message Rambo Jatta said: “All APRC militants, I advise you to be on standby. Baa Tambadou is not going to leave the shores of The Gambia without telling us where the assets of our former president is. 

“Anyday we hear Ba Tambadou is leaving this country, we’re going to block the highway to the airport for Baa Tambadou not to leave. 

“Baa Tambadou will not leave this country without clashing with us. Ba Tambadou you’re not going to escape.”

Mr Jatta’s audio message comes two days after Baa Tambadou resigned from his ministerial position as he prepares to take up a job at the United Nations. 

The former Justice minister was appointed by the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guttered will to the post of Registrar (Assistant Secretary-General) of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. He will be based in the Hague, The Netherlands.
