Veteran educationist Mrs Awa Auber Jaw has died following a short illness. 

She was in her 60s. 

Mrs Auber Jow was a leading educationist and former head of Crab Island Secondary School. 

She was also the Vice Chairman of the Gambia Public Service Commission. 

Last year she led a government delegation to a study visit in India to learn best practices in Public Management, mainly relating to Performance Management System, Recruitment Management System and Civil Services Pension Scheme.
