The Gambia has seen a dramatic decline in the number of new coronavirus cases as only 36 people tested positive for the virus on Friday. 

The Ministry of Health said it represented a 27% drop of new coronavirus cases covering all categories of ages.

Compared to past weeks it showed the country is making progress in flattening the curve and the strict lockdown measures are working. 

The country’s coronavirus cases is now 2,437 with 84 deaths. 

The ministry said 20 coronavirus patients were discharged after making full recovery bringing the total number of recoveries to date to 455.
