Italian police have arrested two men — a Gambian and a Senegalese — after a Gambian migrant’s body was found in a car park in Bolzano, South Tyrol.
The victim identified as Lamin Saidy of Tanji was allegedly killed on Friday over a €700 debt dispute.
Italian police said they had detained the suspects, one Buba Ceesay and his friend, a Senegalese man who was a former resident of Tanji, as the murder investigation continued.
Gambians in Bolzano staged a rally on Saturday demanding justice for Lamin, a young musician who was popularly known as Akon.
He was reported to have been sleeping rough after moving to the Bolzano from Milan two months ago.
