A 66-year-old man has died of coronavirus after spending days in treatment at the Medical Research Council in Bakau.

The deceased, who was on oxygen support prior to his death, had underlying health problems.

In a related development four coronavirus positive patients fled to Senegal shortly before they were to be moved to treatment centres, The Gambia Health Ministry has announced.
