The Ministry of Health has reported 21 new cases of coronavirus the highest single day rise in five weeks. 

This followed over a month of optimism as the country’s coronavirus cases were declining.

The new cases include 14 male and 7 females, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases ever confirmed in The Gambia to 3,833. 

“20 high-risk contacts [of recently confirmed cases] have been identified and their follow-up began in earnest,” the ministry said. 

No new Covid-19 related death was recorded.
