A man and a woman have been found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in Busumbala.

The man identified as Zeizon Gomez was accused of raping and killing the 24-year-old woman.

Police raced to the scene in Busumbala this afternoon after reports of a person found unresponsive.

They attended and found two bodies of a man and a woman. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The bodies were taken away for post-mortem examination.

Police say the deaths are linked and have opened an investigation into the murder-suicide.

Police spokesman Lamin Njie told Gambiana that the man and woman lived in the same house.
