A Banjul group calling itself Concern Banjulians today staged a protest against the city’s mayor over voter attestation.

The group alleged that the mayor’s office was issuing voter attestations to non-Banjul residents.

They demand the mayor’s office to “immediately stop” issuing attestations. The group called on the Independent Electoral Commission and National Assembly Select Committee to intervene and ensure the process is stopped.

Wally Sarr, deputy chairman of the group, told Gambiana: “we are demanding the attestation of non Banjulians to stop.

“Because we have seen people migrating from the Kombos to get attestation from the mayor in Banjul.”

The mayor’s office has been contacted for comment.
