President Adama Barrow has confirmed that The Gambia is ready to host the next Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in 2022.
The president made the disclosure at a meeting with the OIC’s secretary general Dr Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen.
A statement from State House said the
meeting covers a range of issues including peace, security, and international cooperation.

President Barrow also affirmed The Gambia’s continued support to the OIC’s commitment to combatting terrorism and extremism.
Dr Al-Othaimeen praised the President and Gambia Government for their efforts in ensuring the summit’s success, adding that the OIC will be there to support The Gambia throughout the process.
