Gambian judo star Faye Njie was eliminated from the Olympic Games after losing to Somon Makhmadbekov of Tajikistan. 

Competing in the men’s 73 kg on Monday, the 27-year-old Finland-born Gambian was defeated after 3 minutes 53 seconds in the round of 32. 

Meanwhile sprinters Ebrima Camara and Gina Bass will be starting their 100m men and women preliminary rounds on Friday and Saturday respectively.
